Assistant Director

Cleo McCella

Hi, I’m Cleo!

I’m the Assistant Director at King Edward Child Care Society. I recently joined the centre and am excited to bring over ten years of experience in Early Learning and Out of School Care programs to support both children and educators.

I love building strong connections with families and collaborating with educators to deliver creative, engaging experiences for children. Seeing children grow, explore, and discover their own strengths is what makes my work so rewarding.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy fun family time with my 8-year-old son, reading, dancing, and diving into creative projects that spark my curiosity.

Baby Halasan

Day Care

Hi! I am Baby Halasan, 39 years old, mother of two wonderful sons Kelvin and Gabrielle. I was born in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. I enjoyed my childhood with a loving parent. My Dad worked in Saudi Arabia and my mom is a full-time house manager. We lived on a farm which I love and enjoy the most. I took a Bachelor of Nursing when I was in college, though I never got a chance to be a nurse, my course as a Nursing student helps a lot on my job as a Caregiver. This is where I apply all the knowledge that I learned from school. When I finished my program as a caregiver in Canada, I decided to upgrade my career and applied to be an Early Childhood Educator at King Edward Child Care Society and luckily got hired. I am so happy with my job, I enjoy doing arts and crafts with the children, playing with them, making sure that they are safe and loved. It is an awesome experience working with our wonderful director and my co-workers.

Ambika Shah

OSC

My name is Ambika Shah, born and brought up in the Country of Himalayas - Nepal. I have a University Degree in Educational Psychology from Nepal. I have been certified as Child Development Supervisor (Level 3) from Child and Youth Services, Alberta. I would like to call myself a passionate childcare professional since I have a decade long professional career in Early Learning and Childcare. I love doing yoga, jogging, and dancing as part of my daily routine which I believe reduces my stress and helps me to stay balanced in my day-to-day activities. I strongly would like to call myself an advocate for young children who are committed to ensuring reflective learning and all-round development. I believe children are mighty learners who have a unique natural capacity to learn and grow to the fullest. I embrace families to be the first expert of their children. Getting connected with children means getting acquainted with families and of course broader communities. My experiences within the early learning years have encouraged me to further learn and grow myself as an active role model and listener who is always loving, respectful and resourceful for children and families.
